Prasidh Krishna took three wickets in Sri Lanka’s first innings on Day 3 of the second Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. On Day 3, the Karnataka bowler bowled 3/47 in 14 overs at Stumps, dismissing crucial hitters with tactical precision and adjustments.
India declared their first innings at 503 for nine on Day 2, and Krishna’s bowling effort helped keep the host team under strain, particularly in the first session.
Cheteshwar Pujara, a former India hitter, assessed Krishna’s bowling strategy and emphasised the efficiency of his tactical alterations throughout the match. According to Pujara, Krishna’s success came after he made critical improvements to his angle and length, particularly in the first session on Day 3.
The cricketer-turned-expert said that Krishna’s diverse technique, which combined his natural back-of-length deliveries with short-pitched bowling, was critical in breaking through Sri Lanka’s batting lineup.
