Georgia Adams Extends Hampshire Women Stay With New Contract
On August 18, 2026, Hampshire Women revealed that Georgia Adams, the 32-year-old captain, had signed a new two-year contract that would keep him at the Utilita Bowl until the end of the 2028 season. The signing ensures that the Southern Vipers’ most experienced player and on-field leader will remain with the team for the next stage of its development.
Adams has scored over 4,000 runs for the Vipers since her debut in the 2016 Women’s Cricket Super League, making her the team’s all-time leading run scorer and most capped player.
She has taken 156 wickets for the Southern Vipers, displaying her ability to win matches in all sports. She enjoys playing cricket at Hampshire and Utilita Bowl, referring to it as her “home.”
As a club, we have a successful track record in both formats of the game, as well as a reputation for developing players for both club and nation.
“I’m delighted to be able to continue my career with Hampshire as we aim to reach another 50-over final on our home ground in September,” Adams said in an official statement.

She produced an undefeated century against Surrey in the Women’s One-Day Cup semifinal at Utilita Bowl the previous season, and she bowled 4-16 against The Blaze earlier in the season. Georgia has won six titles with the Southern Vipers, demonstrating her individual efforts and the team’s consistent dominance in domestic women’s cricket.

What more extensive playing experience does Adams bring to the extended contract?
Before moving to Hampshire and becoming a prominent participant in the Southern Vipers organization, Adams began her career in Sussex, where her father Chris had a two-decade career.
She does far more than simply play county cricket at home. She has won the Hundred three times, with the Oval Invincibles, Southern Brave, and Trent Rockets.
She was a member of the New South Wales Women’s National Cricket League winning side in 2025, as well as the Adelaide Strikers winning the Women’s Big Bash League in 2023. She rose to international prominence after playing for England against Ireland in her debut series in 2024.
