Zaheer Khan Supports Shami’s Inclusion for 2027 World Cup

Zaheer Khan has backed Mohammed Shami’s inclusion in India’s 2027 ODI World Cup squad, emphasising the value of the experienced pacer’s past and current domestic success. As India prepares for the competition in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, commentators and former players have taken note of Shami’s domestic cricket performances.

According to Zaheer Khan, a player of Shami’s calibre deserves to be considered for the national squad. Khan highlighted the importance of having a seasoned bowler ready for the World Cup campaign, particularly given the anticipated circumstances in South Africa.

“When someone performs this well, he should undoubtedly be part of Team India’s plans. MyKhel cited Zaheer Khan as stating, “He should play in the World Cup and be a part of the team.”

“He just has to look at how he can contribute and do what’s within his control,” Khan remarked, implying that solid domestic achievements will continue to lead to international selection.
