Yashasvi Jaiswal Run-Out Sparks Reaction From Aakash Chopra

Yashasvi Jaiswal was unfortunately run out on August 15 during India’s first Test against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Cricket Stadium. On the last delivery of the eleventh over, KL Rahul sent the ball to mid-on and began attempting a fast single.

Both batters were stranded at the same end after Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was at the non-striker’s end, lost his footing in a collision with the bowler.

Prabath Jayasuriya completed the dismissal by sending the ball to the wicketkeeper. Yashasvi Jaiswal retired from Test cricket after scoring 32 runs in his 30th match. Notably, over his Test career, he has performed in thirty different locations.

“This was Yashasvi Jaiswal 30th Test, and he had played in 30 different venues. In this match, he scored 32 points and was run out. I assumed it was KL Rahul’s fault because Yashasvi fell after the bowler’s leg struck him. He wouldn’t have made it to the other end even if he had gotten up and ran,” Chopra claimed on his YouTube channel.

Chopra decided that the fundamental cause of the dismissal was a clear breakdown in communication between the two batters. Rahul committed to the single without considering his partner’s condition and focused on reaching the bowler’s end.

He was watching the ball and not looking at his partner, unaware of what had occurred to him, resulting in an unlucky run-out. A run-out in a Test match is an unfavourable exit strategy. There was a communication failure. “Life is not always fair,” Chopra observed.

Chopra praised Rahul’s ability to play conservatively while scoring hundreds in Test cricket, as well as his experience and adaptability as a hitter. KL Rahul, the 34-year-old deputy captain, has demonstrated these qualities in several situations.

He is versatile. When he wants, he has complete control over his game and senses. When a Test match comes, he hits a century while playing conservatively, whether in Afghanistan or here. He takes his time.

He lets the ball come to him. Chopra stated that despite being sidelined due to cramps, the player is not permanently injured. So he can bat whenever he feels comfortable. “He will hopefully score a century as well,” he said.
