West Indies, the two-time ODI World Cup champions, have been confirmed to compete in the 2027 ODI World Cup Qualifier. The Caribbean side is currently ranked 10th in the ICC ODI rankings, and with only two ODIs against India remaining before the September 30, 2026 cut-off date, a clean sweep of those matches would not be enough to propel them into the top 8.
The top eight teams in the ICC ODI standings on September 30, 2026, excluding co-hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe, will automatically qualify for the 2027 ODI World Cup. South Africa and Zimbabwe qualified by virtue of hosting the event.
