“I previously stated in a news conference that some changes were required to the design aspects for the Centre of Excellence and stadium. “The original design did not fully align with my vision for the Centre of Excellence, so we asked Populous to redesign it,” he explained.

If I join the cricket board—whether in a high-ranking role or as a board director—I hope to accomplish one or two substantial things for the sport during the next four years, with a ‘Centre of Excellence’ being the most important of them,” he told Prothom Alo.

Bangladesh and India will jointly host the 2031 ODI World Cup, which will follow the next edition’s 50-over event. Tamim Iqbal emphasised the significance of the event and expressed his desire for Bangladesh to perform well in it.
Bangladesh is scheduled to host the World Cup in 2031, the world’s third-largest sporting event, and the Purbachal Stadium was part of the bidding process. Tamim stated that they have started conversations with the government and hope to receive funds soon.

We intend to finish the Centre of Excellence within two and a half to three years. “It will house the BCB offices and have facilities that meet all international standards,” he explained.
