Stuart Broad Predicts Dominant 3-0 England Win Over Pakistan

Stuart Broad believes England will dominate Pakistan in the next Test series, which begins at Headingley on Wednesday, August 19. Pakistan travel to England without their skipper, Babar Azam, who suffered a right hand injury during a warm-up match at Beckenham and will miss the first Test. The injury has forced Salman Agha to take over as captain for the first time in Tests.

Stuart Broad opinion came as he evaluated the strength of both teams ahead of the series. Pakistan have recalled Mohammad Abbas, a 36-year-old fast bowler who has over 300 County Championship wickets in Leicestershire, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire. Despite this addition, Broad remained sceptical of Pakistan’s overall quality.

What can Stuart Broad expect from England’s performance?

Stuart Broad then discussed his expectations for the series outcome. He believes England has the quality to win all three Tests. Broad’s confidence echoes England’s recent competitive advantage in bilateral competitions with Pakistan.

How do the two squads compare heading into the series?

England’s recent form has been poor, with the squad losing seven of its last nine Tests and not winning a Test series since December 2024. The team presently ranks fifth in the World Test Championship standings. Pakistan is ranked seventh in the same standings and has not won a Test series since late 2024. Pakistan did, however, draw their recent Test series with the West Indies 1-1 in the Caribbean.

Pakistan has not won a Test tour to England since 1996, a three-decade streak. England lost the previous series in Pakistan in 2024 by a 2-1 score. However, the Three Lions will be favourites at home.

Joe Root has been named England captain again, while Jordan Cox, who has only one Test cap, has been assigned to the number three batting position. Meanwhile, Jacob Bethell has been sidelined with a knee injury. This week’s Headingley match promises to be a nail-biter.
