Shikhar Dhawan Backs Young Vaibhav’s Rise

Shikhar Dhawan lauded Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s batting style and ability to achieve at the international level despite his young age. The former India opener praised the teenager’s confidence in hitting boundaries and his attitude when battling against established teams.

Sooryavanshi has made a tremendous impact in international cricket at such a young age. The adolescent became the youngest batter in men’s T20I history, scoring a half-century at the age of 15 years and 118 days. He scored 151 runs to lead India’s 3-0 win of the Zimbabwe T20I series.

Sooryavanshi’s early T20I performances

In his first three T20I games against England, Sooryavanshi scored 14, 13, and 15, respectively. These performances highlighted his ability to adapt to international cricket despite his lack of experience at the top level.

His propensity to play positively and challenge bowlers has already piqued the interest of veteran players such as Dhawan.

The left-handed batter’s rise up the ranks has been fast. At such a young age, his combative approach and mechanical ability have established him as a potential possibility in Indian cricket.
