Sadagoppan Ramesh Criticises BCCI Over Rohit Sharma’s Future Clarity

Following the third ODI against England, Sadagoppan Ramesh was dissatisfied with the level of clarity provided by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia over Rohit Sharma’s international future. According to preliminary sources, Rohit’s farewell game in the India jersey was scheduled for Sunday, July 19, at London’s Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The BCCI secretary, Devajit Saikia, denied rumours that Rohit Sharma would play his final match at Lord’s on Sunday. Rohit is a regular member of the Indian One-Day International team, and he will continue to represent his country as long as he is available.

In other words, India Today paraphrased Saikia as claiming that Lord’s ODI would not be his last match.

Sadagoppan Ramesh, a former India opener, argued that Saikia’s comments about Rohit’s participation in the 2027 ODI World Cup were vague.

“The sole lines to examine in the statement are ‘as long as he is in the scheme of things’. They have not addressed the main question with this remark.

Is Rohit Sharma part of your future plans? Everyone understands that in order to travel somewhere, one must first purchase tickets. But whether he goes or not is the question. The same holds true for Rohit,” Ramesh wrote on his Instagram account.

So far, Rohit has had a dreadful series against England. He’s scored 11 and 26 points in the first two games. Ramesh, a right-handed batter, saw the third ODI as a chance to make a significant impact at the iconic site. He emphasised the importance of performance in selection.
