Prince Yadav’s Match Ends Early After Picking Two Crucial Wickets

Prince Yadav’s excellent day was cut short as he was forced to limp off hurt before bowling a ball in his second over against Zimbabwe in Harare on Saturday, July 25, during the second T20 International. The setback could mark the end of his time in Zimbabwe, as the third game of the series is scheduled for the following day.

Prince Yadav was having a wonderful game, building on his excellent performance in the opening match of the series. The right-arm fast bowler had grabbed the wickets of opener Ben Curran and captain Sikandar Raza.

However, before he could go through Zimbabwe’s batting order, Yadav was seen clutching his hamstring after bowling two balls in his second over. India’s physio visited the field, and after inspecting the injury, the fast bowler was forced to leave the field in agony.

Prince Yadav setback comes at an inconvenient moment, since Team India has a hectic international itinerary.

The Men in Blue will face the West Indies in three T20Is and five One Day Internationals (ODIs) at home in September, followed by an all-format tour of New Zealand later in the year. These games would have offered Prince Yadav an excellent opportunity to secure a spot in the playing XI ahead of the 2027 Cricket World Cup.

India has regained form in the shortest format of the game after losing back-to-back series to Ireland and England earlier this month without winning a game in the British Isles.

Shreyas Iyer’s side won the first game of the series against Zimbabwe by seven wickets, with Yadav taking two for 19 from his four overs. It was the team’s first win since replacing Suryakumar Yadav as captain.
