Mukund’s India 2027 WC Squad Stuns Fans, Jadeja Left Out

Abhinav Mukund has chosen an intriguing Indian team for the forthcoming ODI World Cup, which will be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia next year.

The former India opener provided his predictions on the Cricinfo YouTube channel, identifying Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli as the top three. However, he did not include backup opener Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Mukund did, however, include Ishan Kishan in his squad. Kishan has the potential to replace one of India’s top three batsmen or serve as a reserve to first-choice wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul. The squad also included India’s vice-captain for ODIs and T20Is.

Ravindra Jadeja was excluded from the lineup by Mukund, who selected Axar Patel and Washington Sundar as spin-bowling all-rounders. In the interim, Kuldeep Yadav was the sole specialist spinner in the lineup. Conversely, Hardik Pandya was the sole seam bowling all-rounder.

Mukund designated a five-man seam-bowling department, which included Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, and Gurnoor Brar, in anticipation of the anticipated lift and movement on African wickets.

Mohammed Shami, who has not appeared for the Men in Blue since the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand last year, has, however, been excluded from Mukund’s XI. India’s most prolific wicket-taker in Twenty20 Internationals, Arshdeep Singh, was also overlooked.
