Kate Cross Retires From Professional Cricket After Illustrious Career
Kate Cross has revealed that she would retire from professional cricket at the end of the 2026 county season, capping a more than two-decade career at the top level. The 34-year-old Lancashire and England seamer made the announcement on August 21, 2026.
Cross made her Lancashire debut in 2005 at the age of 13, and in 2006 she became the first woman admitted to the Lancashire Academy. Her England debut came in October 2013, and she went on to win 102 international caps in all three formats, capturing 140 wickets for the team.
Across all Red Rose teams, Cross has 239 wickets for Lancashire. By 2024, she had achieved 400 career wickets in First-Class, List A, and T20 cricket, demonstrating the consistent quality she gave to the game throughout her career.
