India A to Play T20 Series in Nepal
In December of this year, the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur will host the three-match Twenty20 series between the India ‘A’ men’s cricket team and Nepal. Following a meeting between CAN (Cricket Association of Nepal) Secretary Paras Khadka, Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Devajit Saikia, and Cricket Association of Nepal President Chatur Bahadur Chand, the tour was finalised on the fringes of the current International Cricket Council Annual Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland.
India ‘A’ will play Nepal in the opening encounter on December 9, while the second and third Twenty20 matches will take place on December 11 and December 13, respectively, in accordance with the schedule decided upon by the two boards. Nepal will get a great chance to showcase their abilities against a strong Indian A team, which is anticipated to include both periphery players from the senior men’s T20I team and prominent Indian Premier League (IPL) players.
The tour is another important development in the BCCI and the Cricket Association of Nepal’s expanding partnership. In order to prepare for the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, the Nepal men’s side had previously played tri-series matches against home teams from Gujarat and Baroda.
