Harbhajan Singh Opens Up on BCCI Career Plans
If given the opportunity, Harbhajan Singh has claimed that he is keen to take on administrative responsibilities in Indian cricket. At the highest levels of the sport’s administration, the former India spinner stated that he would be happy to serve the game in a number of capacities.
Harbhajan Singh has declared firmly that he wants to hold multiple positions in the BCCI hierarchy. He stated that his primary ambition is to make a meaningful contribution to Indian cricket, rather than pursuing titles or positions.
He believes that whatever comes his way, he will achieve it. If I ever get the opportunity to serve in such a role and contribute to Indian cricket, I will be overjoyed.
“I wish I could give back to this game that has given me so much,” Harbhajan Singh stated.
The former spinner’s areas of interest
The former left-arm spinner has previously showed interest in coaching. When the BCCI formally welcomed applications for the role of Team India’s head coach in May 2024, he mentioned that he might apply.

Harbhajan Singh growing involvement in cricket administration was reinforced when the Punjab Cricket Association nominated him to represent them at the BCCI Annual General Meeting on September 28, 2025.
Both Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir have contracts with the BCCI that expire at the end of the 2027 ODI World Cup; Agarkar recently received an extension. VVS Laxman, a great Indian Test player, has been linked to a probable role as BCCI Director of Cricket. Laxman currently serves as the Head of Cricket at the BCCI Center of Excellence.
