Gurnoor Brar Impresses Zaheer Khan Ahead of Sri Lanka Tests
As India prepares for the Test series against Sri Lanka, Gurnoor Brar has received attention for his recent performances. It’s a good thing he’s been moved quickly. Even after spending some time with him, I could sense great promise in him. We’ll have to wait and see how his career progresses, but in terms of potential, he has impressed me the most,” Zaheer added.
Outstanding outcomes in India for individual cricket
The Indian cricket establishment’s faith in Brar has been confirmed by his recent performances. During India A’s tour of Sri Lanka, he took 10 wickets in two innings at Galle, 4 for 77 in the first and 6 for 68 in the second. During that tour, India A won the series 1-0, and Brar played a key role in their victory.
As India begins its campaign in the series, Brar is primed to make an immediate impact.
Since his ODI debut against Afghanistan, the bowler has made an impression in limited-overs cricket. He’s taken 11 wickets in six One-Day Internationals, demonstrating his flexibility. In recent games, his overall impact on the squad has been evident in both batting and bowling.
Contributions to warm-up games and other formats
Brar shown his versatility by playing both bat and ball during the current three-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka Cricket XI in Colombo. He contributed with the bat, scoring 36 runs off 18 deliveries, including four sixes, and taking three wickets over two innings. The practice match provided valuable preparation for the Test series.
