Fraser Sheat Joins Nottinghamshire for Five-Match Stint
Fraser Sheat has signed with Nottinghamshire as an overseas player for a five-match stay that will go until the conclusion of the season. He will connect with the team in the following days.
The Canterbury spinner brings considerable first-class experience to Trent Bridge, having taken over 150 wickets at an average of 27.39. He previously played for Glamorgan in 2024 and has competed for Canterbury in domestic cricket. Fraser Sheat has played 51 first-class matches. He is also an effective batter, having a batting average of 20.71 in first-class games and three half-centuries to his credit.
Fraser Sheat recent performance earned him a call-up to the New Zealand A squad for a four-day encounter against Sri Lanka A in April 2026. During that match, he showed his all-round skill by scoring an unbeaten 61 off 60 balls and dismissing Test-capped opener Nishan Madushka.
His selection for the Nottinghamshire stint indicates the club’s belief in his potential to contribute during the remaining five games of the season.
Nottinghamshire’s head coach, Peter Moores, approved the signing as the club aims to defend its crown.
