Dhruv Jurel’s Batting Technique Praised by Mohammad Kaif After Colombo Ton

Dhruv Jurel scored an unbroken 115 for India against Sri Lanka in the second Test on Monday, August 24, at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. Jurel returned on the second day of seven, originally playing as a supporting player alongside Rishabh Pant.

The pair added 112 runs for the seventh wicket, allowing India to recover from 307/6 before declaring their first innings at 503/9 on Day 2.

Dhruv Jurel achieved his second Test century in 171 balls and finished with 115 not out from 177 deliveries, including nine fours and two sixes.

Dhruv Jurel first Test century outside India came after he hit 125 against the West Indies in Ahmedabad the previous year. His 177-ball innings demonstrated incredible poise, risk-free run accumulation, and exceptional situational awareness.

Jurel demonstrated his abilities in the opening match at Galle, scoring a fluent 51 off 68 balls, his second Test fifty and first outside India. In Colombo, he hit his own fifty in 97 balls and showed outstanding discretion against both pace and spin. Jurel blasted Fernando for two sixes, one over long-off and another hook over square leg, demonstrating his range of strokes while keeping his discipline at the crease.
