BCCI’s Title Rights Hunt Begins With ₹4.85 Crore Reserve Price

According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI is now in direct negotiations with potential corporate partners such as Google Gemini, Spinny, and SBI Life to secure a title sponsor before the home season begins. The West Indies are slated to arrive in India on September 27 for the season’s first home international.

India’s cricket board had set a deadline of August 13, 2026, for bids on the title sponsorship of its home international season. That process generated no major interest, with either no bids or proposals that fell short of expectations.

The new rights cycle lasts two years, until March 31, 2028, and includes about 35 home internationals: 10 Tests, 12 ODIs, and 13 T20Is. It is worth mentioning that the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in mid-September is hosted by the Afghanistan Cricket Board and does not count against the BCCI’s home international total for the period.

BCCI issued an Invitation to Tender on July 20, 2026, for a non-refundable fee of INR 1 lakh, with a deadline of August 5 to purchase the document. The ITT was acquired by sports marketing companies GroupM, ITW, and Sporty Solutions.

What is BCCI’s base price for the title rights?

The BCCI has set the reserve price at INR 4.85 crore per match, which is around 15.5 percent higher than the INR 4.2 crore paid by existing title sponsor IDFC First Bank. IDFC First Bank acquired these rights in September 2023.

At the base pricing, the BCCI can expect to collect at least INR 171 crore from title sponsorship alone over the next two years. For reference, the preceding cycle saw 55 home internationals, with IDFC First Bank paying around INR 231 crore at that time.

What are the terms governing associate partner rights?

Along with the title sponsorship exercise, BCCI issued a Request for Quotation for Associate Partner Rights with an August 25, 2026 deadline. The RFQ paper says:

The BCCI’s terms define a clear sector border between the two sponsorship categories, which means that a brand operating in the same category as the title sponsor is ineligible to join as an associate partner. With the home season opening less than five weeks away, the board is under pressure to complete at least the title sponsorship agreement before the West Indies arrive in India.
