Abhishek Sharma’s Game Plan Exposed? Srikkanth Shares Verdict

Abhishek Sharma debuted as the top batter in the ICC T20I rankings in July of last year. However, he has recently struggled with international cricket.

Despite an amazing Indian Premier League (IPL) season in which he scored nearly 600 runs at an average of 40.21 and a strike rate of 204.73, he had a disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup earlier this year, and his subsequent international appearances have fallen short.

According to former India opener Kris Srikkanth, opponents in international cricket have identified Abhishek Sharma’s vulnerability. Former cricket player and expert believes Sanju Samson should be reinstalled in the starting lineup by the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee.

“Abhishek Sharma has been sorted out (by opponents) in international cricket, right from the World Cup.” I believe a serious decision has to be made against him right now. I

believe Sanju will get another chance now. He will definitely receive a call back. “The selectors will have to make a difficult decision,” he remarked in a video on his YouTube page.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi replaced Samson, who was instrumental in India’s T20 World Cup success earlier this year, during the T20I series against England.

However, after three consecutive failures, the 15-year-old Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman was recalled for the final game of the five-match series. Samson scored 27 from 14 balls in a bold appearance at Southampton’s Rose Bowl.

Abhishek Sharma played in all five England tour matches, but managed only 131 runs at an average of 26.20.

Abhishek Sharma played in all three games, scoring one, eight, and two, while Samson was “rested” for the following Zimbabwe tour.

However, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has lived up to his reputation, striking two half-centuries in three games against Zimbabwe and winning the Player of the Series award.
