Sciver-Brunt Joins Trent Rockets Ahead of The Hundred 2026 Season
Katherine Sciver-Brunt, a former England fast bowler, has been chosen as Trent Rockets’ assistant coach for the 2026 Women’s Hundred, her first coaching post since retiring from professional cricket in 2023. She will join England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt in the Rockets’ coaching staff.
Katherine, an OBE award for services to cricket, is England’s second-highest wicket-taker across all women’s international formats, with 335 wickets, including 170 in one-day internationals.
She played an important role in England’s victories at the 2009 Women’s T20 World Cup and the 2017 Women’s World Cup, and she represented Trent Rockets in the first three editions of The Hundred from 2021 to 2023.
“The moment has come for me to resume my involvement in cricket. I’ve had a crazy three years since retirement, trying to find out what life is like for me now as a mother! My initial thought was of the Trent Rockets.
Trent Bridge is such a wonderful place, and having previously played for the Rockets, returning as a coach was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” stated Sciver-Brunt, as reported by Cricinfo.
Several well-known coaches remain among the Hundred Women. Anya Shrubsole and Sarah Taylor are assistant coaches with the Manchester Super Giants and Southern Brave, respectively, while Charlotte Edwards, the former Southern Brave head coach, has taken over as England Women’s coach. Lisa Keightley of MI London is now the competition’s sole female head coach.
Sciver-Brunt will work alongside head coach Chris Read, while former Nottinghamshire spinner Graeme White will join the women’s squad as fielding coach.
Nat Sciver-Brunt stood aside as Trent Rockets captain last year to focus on her England commitments, and Australia’s Ash Gardner took over the post.
Anton Roux, a former South African white-ball bowling coach, has been appointed as an assistant coach to Peter Moores for the Trent Rockets men’s squad.
Roux stated, “I’m moving in to a new era, and I know coaching and mentoring players of this standard will be something I’ll enjoy.” I’m quite happy to be on the other side of the fence, and to finally return to The Hundred.
“I can’t wait to get started and work with this special squad,” Sciver-Brunt stated.
