While competing in the inaugural Assam Premier League 2026, Dibrugarh Warriors all-rounder Doikho Das cited Indian player Hardik Pandya as an inspiration.
Das claims he is seeking to mimic Pandya’s confrontational style of cricket. His approach to bowling, particularly his use of the short ball as a critical weapon, has been influenced by his admiration for Pandya.
Das has a 7.80 economy rate and 13 wickets in six tournament games. He took four wickets for thirty-three runs against the Charaideo Sunrisers, his best performance. The young all-rounder attributes his performance to a strategic focus on specific areas, citing the short ball as his standard delivery. It has brought me success, and with the pitchers offering assistance, I am leaning into that strength,” Das told My Khel.
The influence of learning about Pandya’s aggressive cricket style is clear in his confidence in this particular delivery.

Das noted that he hasn’t gotten a chance to bat in the competition yet, but he is ready for when that time comes. As part of his franchise role, the all-rounder is dedicated to contributing in both disciplines. “I haven’t had the chance to bat yet, but I’m ready to make an impact whenever the opportunity arises,” Das said.
His all-around duties for the Dibrugarh Warriors reflect his willingness to contribute with both bat and ball.

“My thinking is clear. “I don’t focus on the batter; I only concentrate on hitting my spots and sticking to the plan,” Doikho Das revealed.
He has been able to maintain consistency with the ball throughout the competition because to this meticulous approach.
The Warriors’ tournament performance has been erratic, and Doikho Das viewed the team’s failures from a prospective angle. Das remains focused on developing himself and his team during the APL season. “Losses are part of the game; we’ll learn from our mistakes and bounce back in the upcoming matches,” he said.
