Jasprit Bumrah’s Test Availability Doubtful Ahead of Sri Lanka Series
India is still in the WTC final race, but they have big injury concerns, namely Jasprit Bumrah. On Sunday, July 26, India will conclude their white-ball tour of Zimbabwe, and the emphasis will shift to the next Test series against Sri Lanka, which begins on August 15.
India is ranked fifth in the standings, and they are expected to field a strong 15-member squad for the Sri Lanka Tests. However, other players are racing against time to be ready for the red-ball challenge.
In the most recent developments, Abhishek Tripathi informed that Jasprit Bumrah is uncertain for the Sri Lanka Test since he is not fully healthy. The right-arm seamer missed India’s third One-Day International against England owing to a knee ailment.
According to the report, Jasprit Bumrah is subject to fitness testing, and the BCCI has instructed him to rest till July 30. Furthermore, the MI star will visit the Centre of Excellence for the final stage of recovery and to receive a green light from the physicians.

Bumrah suffered an impact injury to his left knee while fielding during the second One-Day International against England in Cardiff. He finished the game but felt uncomfortable afterwards.

The Indian team’s medical professionals evaluated the injury. Bumrah suffered reactive swelling in his left knee, rendering him questionable for the series decider.
July 19, 2026 – Ruled out of the third ODI.

Bumrah had scans, which reportedly revealed left knee discomfort. He had an injection to lessen the irritation. The BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) has summoned him to report for further evaluation.
