Jos Buttler Delighted With Rohit’s Signed Jersey
Jos Buttler and Rohit Sharma spent two seasons together with the Mumbai Indians, winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 2017. The modern greats have a cordial connection based on mutual admiration and respect for each other’s skill. While a lot of time has passed and Buttler has transferred teams twice, his relationship with Rohit has grown tremendously over time.
Rohit and Jos Buttler recently faced off against each other during India’s three-match ODI visit of England. During the heated series, which England won 2-1, Buttler received a special gift from Rohit, his former IPL captain.
On Friday, July 24, Jos Buttler took to his official Instagram account to share a story about Rohit’s jersey. The former India captain wrote, “Dear Jos, I enjoyed my time playing with and against you.
In the narrative, the England wicketkeeper-batsman wrote, “The one opposition player shirt I’ve always wanted, one of my all-time favourite players!” I will treasure this, thank you, @rohitsharma45.”
How did Rohit and Jos Buttler do during the series?
Rohit scored 11 (21) and 26 (47) in the first two ODIs, and reports suggested that the last game at Lord’s would be his last in international cricket.
However, the 39-year-old disproved his naysayers at the Home of Cricket, scoring 138 runs off just 110 balls, including 17 fours and five sixes. While India lost the match, chasing a 388-run mark, the Men in Blue fought hard and finished on 360/7.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler scored an undefeated 41 off 13 balls in the same game. The Taunton native also struggled in the first two games, scoring five and seventeen, respectively.
Both experienced combatants will be critical to their respective nations’ success in the ODI World Cup next year. Buttler has won the 50-over World Cup in the past, but the cherished trophy has escaped the Indian legend.
