Roach’s Legendary Test Career Recognised by West Indies Cricket

Following the achievement of 300 Test wickets over his illustrious career, fast bowler Kemar Roach is set to be honoured by Cricket West Indies (CWI). In the recent encounter between the West Indies and Sri Lanka, the right-arm fast bowler achieved the milestone.

The Caribbean squad triumphed against the visitors in Antigua by 217 runs in a momentous innings, with Kemar Roach claiming 4 wickets for 51 runs in the second innings to achieve the impressive score. The 38-year-old has joined esteemed bowlers such as Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose, Malcolm Marshall, and Lance Gibbs as the sole West Indies cricketer to achieve this milestone.

Furthermore, Kemar Roach has become only the second bowler from Barbados to achieve this milestone.

Consequently, during the interval of the West Indies’ fifth One Day International (ODI) versus New Zealand, the pace bowler will receive recognition at his home ground.

Participants in the special event will include members of the Barbados Cricket Association and representatives from the Government of Barbados, alongside CWI.

Kemar Roach has taken part in 89 Test matches since his debut in 2009, securing 300 wickets at an average of 26.83. In only his second Test match versus Bangladesh in Grenada, he accomplished a personal best of 6 for 48, marking one of his 12 five-wicket hauls.
