Sachin Tendulkar Delivers Heartfelt Speech at Lord’s Women’s Test
As the Indian team celebrated their historic achievement, batting superstar Sachin Tendulkar visited the famous stadium to make the event even more unforgettable.
In the first Women’s Test, played at the legendary Lord’s Cricket Ground on Monday, July 13, India Women created history by defeating England by an incredible 270 runs.
According to Sky Sports, Sachin Tendulkar visit to Lord’s came as a surprise. However, with India on the verge of a historic victory, the Master Blaster used the opportunity to personally thank the players after their triumph at the “Home of Cricket.”
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) subsequently published a video of Sachin Tendulkar addressing the players before the day’s action. In it, he encouraged the team to remain grounded and strive for even greater success while praising them for creating a historic event.
“Excellent. It’s nice to see everyone. I didn’t come here to lecture you guys. I have only come to express my gratitude for what you have done. Excellently done. Extremely proud with your work. It is still ongoing. You are headed toward something very exceptional. And the first one,” he added in a BCCI-released video.
As the first Indian women’s side to win a Test match at Lord’s, Sachin Tendulkar highlighted the significance of the achievement and said it would always hold a special place in Indian cricket history.
There will be a lot more from Indian teams as well as other teams. We won the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s, and we will always be remembered as the pioneers. I have therefore only come here to savour this moment. In Indian cricket, this is a golden age. Just a quick message. God has shown us such kindness. Remain hungry and modest. And congrats. “Excellent work,” he said.

The visitors ended the game with just four wickets in the opening ninety minutes on the final morning. Sneh Rana claimed the final wicket as India created history by winning by a dominating 270 runs.
